SuperficialPlagues is driven by a shared passion for heavy music and visual storytelling, brought to life through the combined expertise of Jonathan Ortiz and Daniel Davenel, lifelong musicians and creators. Together, we aim to provide independent bands, local artists, and smaller labels with the tools they need to thrive in an ever-growing scene.As the former frontman and screamer for ANAHATA, Jon spent years immersed in the heart of New York's music scene, performing at venues like Gramercy Theater, The Kingsland, and Amityville Music Hall. His experience building connections, securing gigs, and promoting his band shaped his deep understanding of what it takes to stand out. Inspired by bands like Alpha Wolf, Invent Animate, ERRA, VCTMS, Boundaries, PSYCHO-FRAME, and Bad Bunny, Jonathan channels his passion into crafting high-impact visuals that resonate with both artists and fans. He believes in the power of community and perseverance, emphasizing collaboration as the key to success in an oversaturated scene.Daniel, co-owner and right-hand man of SuperficialPlagues, brings his years of experience as the founder and guitarist of The Fallen Prodigy, with initial inspirations drawn from bands like Bullet for My Valentine, Motionless in White, ERRA, Counterparts, The Story So Far, Killswitch Engage, and Times of Grace. His band has collaborated with industry greats like Randy Pasquerella and featured guest vocals from Will Ramos (Lorna Shore). With a keen eye for detail and a dedication to quality, Dan ensures every project meets the highest standards. His expertise in video production and editing helps bring every creative vision to life with precision and professionalism. Launched in 2013, SuperficialPlagues was founded on a passion for elevating deserving underground bands. We had the opportunity to distribute promotional materials for these hard-working artists at several major tours, including The Summer Slaughter Tour (2013), Of Mice & Men's Full Circle Tour (2015), and the Vans Warped Tour (2015, 2016), connecting incredible music with new audiences.

The heart of SuperficialPlagues has always been about elevating the artists who bleed for their craft. After more than a decade in the underground, we're entering a new chapter to build something more impactful together. That's why we're officially bringing back the SuperficialPlagues Street Team.
